My friend Nancy stopped by my cubicle at work last week to chat about knitting. Before she left she leaned in a bit and whispered that she was planning to go buy some new yarn over the weekend.
"I don't know why I'm whispering about buying yarn." Nancy said as she realized what she was doing, "I guess I don't want my budget to know about it."

hee hee hee! that is just fabulous!
I do this with books. I walk up to the counter at Barnes & Noble and pretend that I don't know myself as I buy yet another hardback.
I can understand not wanting the budget to know about yarn shopping, but I have yet to figure out how to keep it a secret from the budget.
The budget knows. It always does. It may pretend that it doesn't just to lull you into a false sense of security. But, the budget knows.
sounds like one of my excuses!
Well if it works let me know. I'll start whispering more often about yarn purchases :).
Budget, yarn?
Hmmmmm.
I think my budget is in Egypt having a nice vacation along a river delta.
This is hilarious! Like when you're whispering to your sweetie in a conspiratorial way, grin, wink and saying things like "and then I did a little (oops!) shopping." Like, oh, I'm so naughty that I can't mention the yarn purchase out loud. Someone will hear. Like, maybe, I will hear what I've done and come to my senses!
Thanks for your kind notes on my blog, Denise. I appreciate knowing I have friends out there, thanks!
lol! I think I'm with Angela on this one!
